Sabine “Cihuatlcoatl” Hertwig is a mother of two, a traditional medicine woman, naturopath, herbalist, artisan, temazcalera, and wachumera, with more than fifteen years of experience in healing work and traditional practice. She is also a vision quester, a sun dancer, and leads the Danza del agua. She learned and developed her path through the integration of two traditions — North American and Andean — training in a healing center in Ecuador, where she lived for more than eleven years. She maintains a close relationship with wild animals and has worked as a healer for wildlife. 

Sabine is the guardian of two natural spaces in Ecuador, two sanctuaries that she protects and cares for as part of her commitment to the land. One of them is a native Wachuma forest, a medicine with which she also works as part of her path.

In her research and artistic practice, Alisa bridges the scientific and ceremonial realms by exploring the role that ancient cosmologies and practices play in postmodern times. She studied and worked in academia in Mexico and Germany, focusing primarily on Cultural and Latin American Studies as well as History. For over a decade she has been building bridges between cultures, bringing wisdom carriers from diverse lineages into dialogue with contemporary audiences across Europe.

With Invisible Worlds, she curates intercultural gatherings, educational formats and ritual spaces that honor the unseen dimensions of our lives, honouring kinship across cultures, intuitive ways of knowing and collective remembering through embodied dialogue.
