In 2024 we are inviting again to two Andean Retreats. The September date is yet to be announced. For those who are feeling a calling to enter Andean cosmology, ancestral sound music and practice, read more below and chose a weekend to join.
The Temazcal is an archaic rite of passage, developed as a ceremonial way of prayer to honour the elements and the natural world, to connect with spirit, set clear intentions, move through inner processes and to purify the body and mind.
This Temazcal Retreat is open for people who are feeling the call to experience an ancient rite of passage with us. It is a powerful prayer that activates in the heart of the sweat lodge and within ourselves.
CULTURAL CONTEXTUALISATION

>> We invite those who want to deepen their knowledge and sensitivity to the cultural heritage and remembrance of ancestral practices.
Imperative practices, rituals and cosmological understandings have been safeguarded throughout millenia in the cosmology and the practices of the Americas. Respectfully diving into it supports us on reactivating and remembering our own, local ancestral ways and allyship with the natural world.

Fernando Derks
Fernando is an Peruvian-Dutch artist, musician and apprentice of the Amazonic-Andean tradition of shamanism. He grow up in the high Andes in a remote village near the Titicaca Lake surrounded by medicine people and Andean spiritual traditions that initiated his path in a very young age.
Fernandos experience with medicine work has been a life long journey, dedicating decades of being an apprentice and assistant from traditional healers who initiated him to share this work. He has been learning from Peruvian and other South American medicine men and women: For several years he assisted and organised ceremonies of the tribe of the Cofanes (Colombia). He assisted Taita Juan (Ecuador) for several years, bringing the Andean traditions and Vision Quest to Europe.
In his own work art has always played an essential role. Fernando is known for his visual art, compositions, his touching songs and interpretations of ancient songs from the Andes. He studied guitar since his childhood with different maestros from Ecuador and Peru. His music is a mix of different cultures coming together and creating a sound that is exploring the borders of folkloristic, contemporary and medicine music.
Alisa Reimer
is a cultural researcher, holistic facilitator, sound artist and curator (degreed at UNAM México and Humboldt-University Berlin). She has been researching and teaching over a decade in the holistic field and in academia, as well as in her own educational and ritualistic formats. In her research she bridges the scientific and ceremonial realm by exploring the role that ancient cosmologies and practices play in meta-modern times. Alisa is closely working with wisdom carriers mainly from the Americas, creating opportunities for them to share their knowledge, message and medicine. In 2016 she co-founded Soneiro Collective - through which she has been producing conscious programs for festivals, as well as hosting sound meditation trainings and international retreats as well as releasing Soneiro’s own music. She is convinced that personal transformation and the integration of the insights gained along the way is the basis for societal change.
OUR LOCATION
Our location is located in the rural area of Brandenburg. Many times shared rides are being organized by the participants beforehand. We will also sleep/stay over night at the location.
INVESTMENT
The Temazcal is a very complex ritual, needing several days of preparation and building up the sweatlodge itself. It needs a team of several people who are experienced in this work and working with the elements. Your sleeping place and food is included.

PREPARATION
These retreats are recommended for people who bring Temazcal experience or who have joined already Fernando’s or Alisa’s work. If you haven`t but are feeling the calling to join, you are still very invited to get in contact with us. Before the Retreat you will receive more details, a mail that prepares you and the arrival information.

a little gift for the fire keeper (this is a traditional gesture to give thanks. it can be anything, even a nice chocolate or whatever you feel like gifting)
