Rita Huni Kuin lives in the remote village of Jordão in the state of Acre in the Brazilian Amazon. She is one of the major young female representatives and communicators of the Huni Kuin people. She is co-founder of the Kayatibu group, which promotes the culture and spirituality of its people through the arts, and of the Indigenous women’s association Ainbu Dayá.

She is also a visual artist, depicting traditional stories of her culture in her art. Her works have been exposed in the São Paulo Museum of modern art and at Berlin Art week, amongst others.

Jaci Meinhold is a co-founder of the Ainbu Dayá association in Brazil. For over eight years, she has been working with the Huni Kuin people, spending time living in their villages in the Amazon, where she values the appreciation and harmony in which people live with wild nature. At Living Gaia, her focus is on realising projects with Huni Kuin women in the forest and in Europe. Drawing on her close connection to the Huni Kuin women and her own Brazilian and German roots, Jaci serves as a cultural bridge between the Huni Kuin and communities in Europe and Brazil.
